Don’t forget to reserve your nickname before the Valorant beta
Players who are most excited to discover Valorant will have to be patient before the first beta phases open. However Riot Games allows you to reserve your favorite nickname, here’s how.
If you are anxiously awaiting the release of the first FPS from Riot Games, you will be happy to know that it is possible to lock your user name well before the game’s release.
While this may seem logical to regulars in League of Legends or Legends of Runeterra, many of the players interested in Valorant may never have set foot on the Summoner’s Rift and do not have an account. Rest assured, the procedure is as simple as pie.
How to lock your username in Valorant
The first step to get there is to register an account with Riot Games. Since the studio allows you to use a single username for all of its games, an account is all you will need to access Valorant once it is available.
From the official League of Legends website, it is possible to register an account by simply providing an email address, a date of birth, and then a user name.
It is important to keep in mind however that your username will only be used to log in and will not be the nickname you will use in Riot games.
Once your account is registered, go to the Riot website to manage your account using the information you have just used.
When you arrive above, you will be greeted by a window containing 4 separate parameters. Click on the second option to access your Riot ID.
“Your Riot ID is used to find you in all Riot games through the in-game social tab.”
It’s up to you to use this space to create the nickname of your choice and thus be able to use it as soon as you exit Valorant, before it is reserved by someone else.
For the moment, Riot remains fairly elusive as to the date of the first beta phase open to players. Several clues and teasers suggest that a beta will take place before the official release of the game this summer, it remains to be seen whether it will be today, tomorrow or in three weeks.
Until then and now that you have your nickname, you can always continue to familiarize yourself with the mechanics of the game to be fully operational when it is released.
